Hi blackrussion, was just wondering if you had any plans to crate a legend object as a WPF control?

Yes, acctually it's a twoflod story:
First - if you think of it - a legend if a view of the theme. i.e. if you have a theme showing cities with different pop rank with different symbols - it can be easily converted to a legend view. So this one is something that will be done as part of the work on [workitem:667].
The other thing is scalebar, which is indeed something that aught to be done. and I've just added it as a workitem [workitem:752]

Thanks for your quick reply. I completely agree with what you are saying. I guess what might be an idea, not sure what you think, was to use a legend object similar to that of the ArcIMS or ArcObjects legend object model. If it is ok with you I might play around with it, though I am kind of busy now. If I get anywhere with it I will post it for your review. Thanks again.

First of all - help is always appreciated, and you're more then welcome to upload a patch, whenever you feel like.
Just to save you some work - I think it'll be better to wait for the general use theme implementation, or at least its interface definition. I believe the interface definition will be committed in about a week.
in any case thanks for you interest in the project,
